I understand and have previously setup process monitoring for specific processes in the past; but in this case we are looking to find out WHICH PROCESS may be utilizing too much CPU for a sustained/determined amount of time. We are currently running
SCOM 2012 SP1 and are trying to determine if it's possible to monitor for any single process (specifically not looking for a known process name here) that is occupying say >=75% of the CPU for a sustained say 25m?? My background is with a different
Monitoring application that had this ability right out-of-the-box; I've even tried wildcarding the process name in hopes that it would identify a single process, not so much, it actually adds all the processes information together. One might expect in
basic troubleshooting someone might ask the question "What process is using all the CPU??" It would be nice if there was a way to answer that question.
