We're using SCOM 2012 sp1. We had an incident recenty where we received an alert for "Workflow Initialization: Failed to start a workflow that runs a process or script"-- three days in a row; we opened problem tickets for each (it's how they want it done.) The analyst told us to refrain from opening new tickets for these alerts until the "Repeat Count" was "High" (not defining what "high" actually is.) I asked them if the alert couldn't be suppressed until the Repeat Count for that alert for that unit reached the arbitrary "high" value. They told me the system didn't work that way.
So, am I to understand that SCOM is not robust/sophisticated enough to keep track of multiple parameters for specific alerts and supress displaying them until certain/specific conditions are met? Or is it just that the analyst is unaware how or unwilling to write the code to perform requested function?
Thanks.
