Alert rule authoring - how to pull event log data from Azure diagnostic storage

Hi, hope someone can help.

I have a SCOM 2012 R2 deployment with the Azure Management Pack. I've been able to pull performance data and monitor the health of deployed roles/instances etc without any problems. However, we have an application in Azure that logs out to Azure diagnostic storage. The events go to the Application event log and have proper EventID, Event Source etc. Whenever I create an alert rule, I am unsure how to configure the rule to monitor the data contained in the Azure diagnostic storage account.

What I am unsure of is:

Rule Target - Should this be Windows Azure Cloud Storage or Web role/role instance?

Data Source - When I pick the 'Application' log, the data source is 'DS'. Is this correct?

Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.
