Hi Team,

I changed my SCOM 2012 Action Account today from Account123 to Account 456.

Account 456 is a new account and was never used anywhere in my SCOM instance earlier.

Account 123 was used as SCOM action account, SDk and config service on the MS, sql reporting service run as account.

To change the account from Account123 to Account456, I did this -

1) Created a new login in SQL DB and DW for account456 and gave exact permissions as Account123.

2) created new action account for Account456 in SCOM console. Updated the password.

3) Updated the account in "Data Warehouse Report Deployment Account".

4) changed the sdk and config run as account to use Account456. restarted both of them.

5) changed the account from 123 to 456 in SQL server report configuration manager and SQL Reporting service. restarted the sql reporting service.

Then I checked on my SCOM console and found that all my SCOM Management servers are in critical state. and I am getting

event Id 31551 and 31561 on them. These events say -

*****************************************************

Event ID 31551-

Failed to store data in the Data Warehouse. The operation will be retried.
Exception 'SqlException': Login failed for user 'account456'.
One or more workflows were affected by this.
Workflow name: Microsoft.SystemCenter.DataWarehouse.CollectEntityHealthStateChange
Instance name: SCOMMS01
Instance ID: GUID
Management group: SCOMMG01

*****************************************************

Event ID 31561-

Failed to enumerate (discover) Data Warehouse objects and relationships among them. The operation will be retried.
Exception 'SqlException': Login failed for user 'account456'.
One or more workflows were affected by this.
Workflow name: Microsoft.SystemCenter.DataWarehouse.Discovery.StandardDataSet
Instance name: Alert data set
Instance ID: GUID
Management group: SCOMMG01

*****************************************************

Can someone please guide me about what I did wrong, If I missed a step, or what else can I do to get this corrected. This Account456 was never used in SCOM before. so may be I did something wrong. Please help.

Thanks, S K Agrawal
