Hello,
I am trying to find out the correct process to update a management pack.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2010/11/19/collecting-sql-database-size-as-a-performance-counter.aspx?pi10475=3#pi10475=3
I have a custom MP xxxx.SQL.2008.Servers I need to update.
I exported it to C:MPs. I open it with the Authoring Console, but it saying
trying to click OK I select the folder G:\Management Packs\Windows Server 2008 and the MP Microsoft.Windows.2008.Cluster.Management.Library.mp but it is asking again the same MP...
What could be the issue...
It is doing this again and again sometimes changing to a SQL MP but back to the cluster Mp and so on for ever...
already 32 times!!!
If I try to open the Microsoft.Windows.2008.Cluster.Management.Library.mp with the Authoring console it works perfectly but apparently it is not the correct version!!6.0.6720.0!!!
Microsoft Windows Server Cluster Management Pack.msi 6.0.7005.0 has been installed but where is the mps associated with them as it seems the custom mp required them for the loading!!!?
I found " Microsoft.Windows.2008.Cluster.Management.Library.xml" with the correct version 6.0.7005.0 but it is an xml in G:\Program Files\System Center Operations Manager 2007\Health Service State\Management Packs\ and when opening the custom MP in the authoring console it does not let me change the file name for the dependencies!!!
Even running "
get-managementPack | export-managementPack -path c:\mp" does not give me the correct MP available!!!
So far I have the correct MP name, the correct version name but as xml and the custom MP is looking for an MP extension!!!
I created a key:
sn -k MyKey1.snk
then try to seal the MP but again it is telling me to seal all MPs at least 6 of them? is it expected?
c:\MPSEALs>MPSeal.exe C:\MPs\xxxx.SQL.2008.Servers.xml /I c:\mps /Keyfile C:\MPSeals\Key\MyKey1.snk /Company "xxxx"

Do I have to expert the custom MP and all standard MPs with are in the dependency list? Should I reseal all of them this seems tedious!!!
Are all Microsoft MPs not stored as MP files somewhere? I could not fiond a folder with all of them...
Any idea?
Thanks,
Dom
