We have a "monitoring" PC hooked up to 4 LCD displays that we want to display our SCOM console showing the following windows:
- Monitoring -> Active Alerts
- Exchange 2007 Topology
- AD Sites (Topology View)
- AD Topology
What we're finding is that with the above windows opened, the SCOM console would crash and terminate anywhere between 10 minutes to a couple of hours after being opened. Opening the Active Alerts display all day does not appear to trigger the problem. Mainly the Topology views.
If I click on the send diagnostic information to Microsoft for review, the Dr Watson window reports that we need to install an updated Acer Memory Card Reader driver, which we don't have installed on this PC.
As a test, we've tried the same tests with 3 PCs with different video cards and different PC models with the same result. And Dr Watson reports having to install the Acer Card Reader driver, which none of our PCs have.
Does anyone know why this is happening and what is the solution? We are running SCOM 2007 R2 with CU1 on the SCOM server. The "monitoring" PC is running Windows XP SP3 with all the latest security updates. On the "monitoring" PC, the latest video card drivers were also installed.
