SCOM generating closed alerts WITHOUT open alert first...

Hey guys,

A quick question relating to a minor bug-bear of mine. SCOM is working fantastically within our infrastucture! However, there is one minor issue - every so often we get email alerts generated for closed issues without first receiving an alert indicating that an issue is "open" in the first place!

I first thought this might be because the issue rectifies itself before the "delay sending notifications" period has expired and therefore we're only receiving an alert indicating the issue is closed - but if that were the case, we shouldn't receive the closed alert either if the issue opens and closes automatically within the "delay sending notifications" period?UNLESS the issue resolves itself precisely upon the completion of the "delay sending notifications" period and thus we only received the closed alert.

Hope this makes sense. :) Any idea's as to what is going on here?
