Dear all,
We have a group of servers (win 2008) running Sharepoint, SQL Server, etc. We do not have budget for monitoring software. Right now we write our own script (vbs or powershell script) to check all our servers and send out email every 15 minutes. If we do not receive all the email any 15 minutes, something is wrong. But I think it is somehow stupid because we receive 1000 email per day.
If we setup the script to send email when something WRONG, we will not receive alert when SMTP down or entire server down.
Do Windows 2008 provide any feature can fulfill our need? Thank for input.
