Hi All,
I know there have been a bunch of discussions on resource pools for network device monitoring, but;
'Considerations when Designing a Management Group for Network Monitoring' states, "Network monitoring in System Center 2012 – Operations Manager requires its own separate resource pool." I know network device monitoring will work using a resource pool also shared by agents, the 'all management servers pool' for example, so I'm wondering where the implied requirement for a dedicated resource pool stems from? Using a non-dedicated resource pool doesn't seem to prevent network device monitoring from working, so is it just for scaling?
What I'm getting at really is; in the scenario where we have three management servers, do I really need to stand up another two (for resilience) just for monitoring circa 250 network devices, or can I just ensure that the three existing management servers are sufficiently resourced and used those?
Thanks.
