We are experiencing some issues with SCOM 2012 RTM w/UR2 (also with SP1 and UR3) UI console on Windows 7 x64 with .Net 4.5. The console installs fine and appears to be working for the most part until we try to create a new dashboard or view performance
data for a few servers while changing the time range. I was able to get things to work by uninstalling .Net 4.5 and reinstalling .Net 4.0. Has anyone seen this? Thanks!
Noted UI console behaviors with .Net 4.5 but not with .Net 4.0:
- Templates are missing when creating a new dashboard view from the Dashboard and Widget Wizard. The templates may appear the first time but disappears if you cancel out and retry.
- Console shows busy and stop responding when trying to view performance data for a few servers while changing the selected time range (e.g. viewing the DC Performance data for % processor Time of the lsass process from the Microsoft Windows Active Directory MP and changing the time range from say 1 day to 5 days). The Microsoft.ExterpriseManagement.Montioring.Console.exe process would consume upwards of 1.4-1.9 GB of RAM before the console eventually respond with the displayed data. I understand it is normal for the console to show busy when retrieving data from the OpsMgr DB but the memory utilization and unavailability of the console for a long duration is not normal and was not an issue with .Net 4.0 (memory utilization was around 350 MB with .Net 4.0).
