I have a physical server (Windows 2012 R2), with 5 logical drives configured with drive letters from the local disks in the server (a mixture of RAID1 and RAID10), but SCOM (2012 R2) isn't discovering the Drive letter for one of them.
The "Mount Point Discovery Rule" (Discovered Type: Windows Server 2012 Logical Disk) has been enabled and is picking up the Drive as a guid\\?\Volume(GUID) but the drive letter is missing.
This seems to work fine across the rest of the estate (we have a number of physical servers with local storage organised this way) and it's picking up 4 of the 5 drives on this server.
Don't see anything in Discovered Inventory or the Disk Health View for this missing drive letter. Anyone else had this issue??
Thanks!
Dear Team,
We are getting continuously the following error event id 31551 on our SCOM 2012 SP1 server as below.
Please let me know how to resolve this.

Hello guys,
I have SCOM 2012 R2. I have uninstalled the Management Server software from one of our MS because it will no longer be used as a management server. However when i go to Management Servers State the entry of the server still shows as Critical under Management Server State from Health Service Watcher. How can i remove the orphaned entry from there ? Here is how it looks like : From Management Server State the server was gone after uninstall but it still sits under Management Server State from Health Service Watcher. I removed the server from Administration ->Management Servers and the software was also uninstall. Please let me know a query so i can get rid of the health service. I have the ID of the server.

I have two older Citrix Netscaler devices that is discovered fine, but 4 new'er devices (Netscaler NS10.5) is not discovered.
We can see that SCOM connects to the devices but SCOM says "No Response SNMP". Using a MIB browser I can connect to the newer Netscalers and do a SNMP GET to read data from the MIB, however if I use a SNMP GET NEXT, the request time out so now I get no data.
If do the same with the older Netscaler devices i.e. a GET and then a GET NEXT then I get data in both cases.
This actually corresponds to the Netscaler documentation that says that GET NEXT is no longer support on the newer Netscalers.
This leads me to think that SCOM might uses a GET NEXT in the discovery process. I haven't used a sniffer yet to check this.
If anyone has had the same problem and knows a workaround I'd be very happy to hear about it :)

Hi,
I'm making a custom dashboard, I'm trying to use the performance widget for a netapp volume, but the performance objects are not available and only see "(All)" on the options (see screenshot). When I create the dashboard it shows the widget with empty information.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Experts,
We have successfully deployed SCOM 2012 RTM. We did notice that by default there are three resource pools created.
1. AD Assignment resource pool
2. All Management Servers resource pool
3. Notifications resource pool
We would like to know what is the role of these reseource pools and their use.
Thanks

Hi,
We are receiving several eventids '26007' from the OpsMgr log on our Domain Controllers, also eventids '26008' with similar description are logged
The EventLog service reported that the Security event log on computer '<Domain Controller Computer>' is corrupt. The Windows Event Log Provider will attempt to recover by re-opening log.
I'll appreciate any suggestion in order to solve this issue.

It does not join to Operations Manager Authors profile for creating dashboard.
which permission it has for craeteing dashboard in Monitoring tab?
Thanks.
Hi all,
We have added SCOM 2012 R2 to our work environment a couple months ago and are currently working on narrowing down the alerts that we are receiving and noticed some returning errors that show up because of scheduled tasks.
The thing is that we have two domain controllers that restart every monday morning on every week. Because of this, two critical alerts show up saying that the Domain Controller Has Stopped. This however is normal because of the scheduled reboot.
I was wondering if it would be possible to apply an automatic maintenance window for a specific server for a specific time.
Because excluding this alert is not an option because then having an unsuspected shutdown for example will not give us an alert.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks in advance,
Bram
Hi Fellows,
One of my customer has a large environment being monitored by SCOM 2012 R2. the Datawarehouse DB has grown up to 500+ GB. (Autogrowth configured as 10percent - unlimited MB).
I would like to know if there is any method to shrink the database or to cut down the historical data to only 3 Months?
What if we put a limit on DW Size? How the SCOM behaves if the DW is full after putting the limit? Does it start overwriting the old data or stop saving the data to DW at all?
Thanks.

Hi,
When accessing the web console from the server hosting the web site there is no problem, but when accessing it from another server, you get the following message:The User Credentials are invalid or user does not have permissions to access the application
I had try the following workaround but not resolve my issue:

Hi team,
I have created 2 custom monitors for C: drive. One monitor, to alert if freesapce lessthan 5% and other less than 10% of free space, at an interval of 15 mins. Now Some servers which are in 15% free space, suddenly drop to 2% during the patch cycle because of which they are getting alert on 10% and 5% as both meet the criteria, which is duplicate according to them. They say that, they want only one ticket not 2. There is also a default agreement to throw a warning alert if goes less than 10 and critical if it goes less than 5. So both monitor are needed.
How can we tackle this situation. I thought of using double threshold monitor but it does not suit here. let me know your ideas.
