I have SCOM 2012 R2 at work, and i need to monitor a set of 5 IP addresses. I tried to find online any thing about this but all i can find is about NETWORK device which is NOT what am looking for.
Any Idea or advice please

Hi,
I have to monitor a 50 servers of Workgroup environment and around 10-15 servers that is part of different forest`s multiple Child Domain.
So,I am looking for a solution how can i Monitor those all servers of Workgroup and different Forest`s multiple child domain.
Is Gateway server required/reduce our efforts in this senarios or should i go manual certificate installation on each Servers (that is part of workgroup or different forest`s multiple child domain) that i need to monitor.
I want this monitoring in easiest way. please suggest.

I have one windows 2003 which has updated to scom 2012 SP1 UR9 but it cannot be monitor in SCOM 2012 SP1 which showing its operating system "unmonitored" - all the hardware and OS related not discovered at all.
If i changed it back to monitor using SCOM 2007R2, i do not have any issue.

I want to pull a report from SCOM for windows 2008 OS servers, for how much total disk space is there and how much free space is available against each Windows 2008 Servers.
We are using SCOM 2012 SP1 Operations console. Could some one please assist me on this. Thanks

Hi,
We have a rule to monitor log file which has .out extension and is generated by a third party application.
As a maintenance task, the third party application will delete the existing log file and creates a new log file once in a day.
Since the log file is under SCOM Monitoring, it is being locked by MonitoringHost.exe process and the application could not able to delete the log file which results in the application down and has a critical impact.
Currently, what we are doing is we temporarily stop the HealthService during the application's above said maintenance task and then starting the HealthService. But this results in loss of some alerts from that server that occurs during the Healthservice is stopped.
Is there anyway to overcome this problem or is there any alternate solution available for this issue??

Has anyone else has any issues with applying the Rollup 9? I recently inherited our SCOM 2012 R2 environment and no rollups have been applied.
I am attempting to run KB3129774-AMD64-Server.msp Windows 2008 R2 Standard Server (64 bit) and the install runs, and then blanks out. I restarted the server, but I still show Product Version 7.1.10226.0.
Server is fully patched, I am running the update from an Administrative Prompt.

Hello All,
I have integrated SCOM 2012 r2 with VMM 2012 r2 but not enabled PRO.
My goal is to monitor all Hyper-v 2012 R2 VM disk space.
I have hyper-v 2012 r2 Monitoring MP, as well as Hyper-V extensions 2012 r2 MP.
Is there option not to install agent and monitor disk space?

Q1: Why do I need to specify the target for the RunAs ACCOUNT when creating the RunAS PROFILE if I have already done it while creating the RunAs ACCOUNT itself?

I have SCOM 2012 R2 setup in a Proof of Concept all-in-one setup and have just starting adding network devices to monitor via SNMP v3. I just added 8 network devices to be monitored and I have received over 600 alerts about ports being in an unhealthy state. I'm super new in this job and not terribly up to speed on networking terms and technology. I know one of the devices is a CORE router and the other ones may control different subnets? My question is WHY am I receiving all these alerts? Is this going to happen every time I add a new network device? It's been about a week and I have been "disabling monitoring" on every alert of this type. I'm still getting new alerts a week later. Appreciate any assistance.

Under Authoring > Web Application Availability Monitoring, I have created a new monitor named "My Websites". Within that monitor I have added 50 websites. I am now wanting to create a dynamic group that populates all of those websites. I am not sure what query I should be running to get the results I am after. Does anyone know or can anyone point me in the right direction?
The reason why I am trying to find this out is I want to create an 'Availability Report' for the websites and instead of manually inputting the websites in both the 'Web Application Availability monitoring wizard and also a group we just need to input the new sites in one place.

I'm using SCOM 2012 R2 and we have 1174 agents monitored in SCOM. But in Windows computers view under Monitoring tab shows 1250+ computers and most with grayed out and Not monitored state. I'm not sure from these numbers of machines captured in windows computers view.
Any help would be really appreciated to clean up this..

We have a custom monitor created to check for specific performance counter system uptime and alert when it breaches specific thresholds. The monitor is targeted at windows computer and works as expected. This monitor is created disabled and is overridden for a specific group(containing window computer objects) to enable it to true. Now we have been asked to disable this for specific servers (window clusters). So I have created a group with object window computer and added all the cluster servers therein. I have then overridden the original monitor for this specific group and set it to enabled false.
However the override isnt working and the monitor is still continuing to be enabled for all the cluster servers. Running out of ideas here - please let me know what might be going wrong. TIA !!

I'm at a bit of a loss to troubleshoot this error. I cannot find the "GetMGAlertsCount.ps1" script to execute manually and don't have much else I can find to troubleshoot.
