Event 31567 - Failed to deploy reporting component to the SQL Server Reporting Services server. The operation will be retried.
Hi all,
I have SCOM 2012 R2 UR 8 with VMM 2012 R2 UR 8. VMM is connected to SCOM and the connection status is good (OK).
Now I am getting the following error in the SCOM Event log. I Have see this error before and I was able to fix it with instructions from here: http://www.systemcentercentral.com/report-deployment-error-after-updating-vmm-management-packs-with-2012-r2-update-rollup-3/
However these steps do not help any more. Does anyone has an hint how to troubleshoot this?

How SCOM 2012 Agents will fail-over to secondary gateway server (configured with powershell) when primary gateway server is down ?I mean how agents will know that primary gateway server is down ? and how much time agents will wait to start failover ?

Is SCOM autoclosing rules?
Hi,
Bear with me, a somewhat complicated story here.
One of our servers ASR booted two some days ago but we didn't notice it (the Heartbeat Failure and Failed to Connect to Computer went from new to close and thus we didn't see it because our View only shows New alerts).
Although, since it was an ASR boot, our "HP Windows (WMI ASR reboot occorued."-alert should trigger, and it did! But somehow it went to Closed immediatley with no sign on who closed it. So the question is, why did SCOM close it automatically? Since its a rule, no auto-resolve is configured (screenshots attached below).
We also have a custom rule that reacts on Eventid 6008 in the System log (The previous shutdown at xx:xx:xx on xxxx-xx-xx was unexpected) that is also set to Closed with no trace on who actually Closed it.
Also - we received the "SQL Server Broker disabled"-alert two days before all this, could that have something to do with it?

Remote Monitoring for InterSystems Cache databases query?
Hi All
We are looking at using the remote ODBC database checks, with a query for Cache databases. We have installed the Cache Provider on the Management Server but the Provider is not appearing in the drop-down list when using the 'Build Connection String' pop-up wizard. We have rebooted the SCOM Server to see if that would aid in getting SCOM to pickup the new ODBC Drivers but without luck.
Cache Provider installed (ODBC-2015_2_2_805_0-WIN_X86.EXE), and two drivers appear at the Windows OS layer as 'InterSystems ODBC' and 'InterSystems ODBC35'. They appear and work at the Windows Server layer but are not appearing in the SCOM.
Any thoughts on how to get them to appear within the Provider drop-down list within SCOM would be much appreciated!

Notification Channel Command for SQL Insert Script
Hi,
I'm looking at ways to produce a SQL Report on how many times we are have been called out by SCOM and our out-of-hours alerting system and was told to look at Notifications Channels.
I can see it's possible to create a command type to execute a script. So my question is; How would I write a script that is capable of opening a SQL connection to a SQL server, and in turn insert details about the alert (time created, severity, description, resolution state etc) into a SQL database table.
I can then write report against the SQL database that is populated by the command script.

Error 4503, grey agent
Now and then some grey agents SCOM.
If I look at the server it looks like the event ID 4503 in the Operations manager eventlog is connected to the agent being greyed out.
"A module reported an error 0x80070057 from a callback which was running as part of rule "Microsoft.SystemCenter.CollectPublishedEntityState.Resend" running for instance".
A restart of the service and clearing the "health service state"-folder will fix the problem.
Anyone no of a reason for why this is happening?

Update custom monitoring object property value using SCOM SDK - Help me

I have tried to get and update custom monitoring object property value using SCOM 2007 r2 Sdk. In below code i have tried to get the existing monitoring object and update new value of its property. Here i get the monitoring object(GetMonitoringObjects()), but could not update its property value. I do not found any methods in it. The "CustomMonitoringObject" type have "SetMonitoringPropertyValue" method to update property value. So i have to convert this Monitoringobject to CustomMonitoringObject, and it showing not possible error.

Solarwinds Orion Advanced Alerts
Hi All,
I have integrated the solarwinds Orion with SCOM . But some false alerts we are getting in SCOM from Orion. The same alerts are working fine as per trigger condition on Orion. I believe SCOM is not checking the Time condition of the trigger and alert is generating in SCOM whenever threshold reached. Kindly suggest .

We have a few Hyper-V servers getting monitored in our SCOM environment. We have a requirement to give the list of top 10 VDI's utilizing more disk I/O on the SSD drive. How can we achieve this? I can get the perf details for individual VDIs but how to
get top 10 VDI utilizing more disk I/O on the SSD drive?

CyclicDependencyException when running Get-SCOMManagementPack
Hi all, I'm running into some problems with Get-SCOMManagementPack and I'm unsure how to go about troubleshooting/resolving them.
I used to be able to and expect that when I run Get-SCOMManagementPack to get a list of management packs back from my environment. I'm running this in the Operations Manager Shelll and am able to perform other commands without issue.
However, now if I run Get-SCOMManagementPack, I get an exception:

If I run the command specifying a specific management pack, however, I do get a result back, so the command itself is not completely broken. Just when I want to pull back a list of all the management packs.

Any idea how I might be able to resolve the CyclicDependencyException?

Configuring Audit Collection Services

1) I installed ACS according to https://technet.microsoft.com/library/hh284670.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
2) I enabled forwarders (~ 9 windows servers and 1 windows 8.1 client) as described here:
...but no events are importing to the OM server:
Are these steps enough to start collecting events or should I do anything else?

Global Service Monitor
I have sent up several test state web application availability tests in SCOM 2012. I have a total of 7 running right now but I have one I'm not happy with...I would like to edit it OR remove it altogether.
The issue for me is how to remove that test? I see no way to do that without stopping the subscription. Surely, there is another way to edit or delete a test?

Updating Principle Name Field in SCOM
I need to remove the FQDN naming information from the principle name field, what I would like to do is change the
