In the SQL Server requirements section of the SCOM installation for SCOM 2012 R2 (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn249696.aspx) it mentions:
"Using a different version of SQL Server for different Operations Manager features is not supported. The same version should be used for all features."
I have a couple questions pertaining to this. Does this pertain only to the major version of SQL server and not the edition? For example, can I use SQL Standard for my SRS and OperationsManager database, but use Enterprise for my OperationsManagerDW?
Does this also pertain to the ACS component of SCOM as well. This seems to be largerly segmented from the other components of SCOM.
We need to purchace SQL 2012 Enterprise licenses for some components of our two SCOM Management Groups, but I don't want to have to run on Enterprise Edition where Standard will suffice as Standard is included with the product.
Thanks..Jon
