SCOM 2007 R2 Remedy Cnnector

We are trying to get the Remedy connector running on SCOM 2007 R2 without much luck.

1) When you install the provider, it is supposed to create a certificat file (cer) that gets installed later.  It does create the file but the certificate in it expired almost 2 years ago and is, therefor, invalid.  How do I get this thing to generate a certifcate that expires on some future date?

2) I find the documentation to be confusing.  It keeps using the phrase "remote system" but it isn't at all clear if it is referring to the SCOM box or the Remedy box.  When you are installing the provider, you are on the Remedy box so that means that the SCOM box is the "remote system", correct?  Or do I have that backwards?
