Putting a SCOM group in maintenance mode.

We're using SCOM 2012 R2 and I've been trying to come up with something that can put a SCOM group in maintenance mode if a specific monitored object in that same group has a critical alert.  I've looked at the SCOM database, powershell and orchestrator but haven't had any success.  I do know I will probably need a combination of all three to get it to work.  I'm able to get the critical alert from powershell but not sure how to get the group that's tied to the monitored object so I can put it in maintenance mode.   Ideas?

Thanks.
