Application Performance Monitoring with SCOM 2007 R2 and SCOM 2012 SP1

Hi All,

One of our new customer need the details on what will be monitored using APM and how. I am quite new to this feature and we are running 2007 R2 in our environment and have plan to migrate to 2012 this year, but not sure whether we will have APM implemented in 2007 R2 until migration takes place. So, I am looking for the details on below,

1. Scope of APM in SCOM 2007 R2 and 2012 [how it works in both and limitations]
2. Major differences on features and config in both SCOM 2007 R2 and 2012
3. What will be the suggested approach on this model
