Please I need your help, I have installed SCOM 2007 agent on workgroup server (non-domain joined) its name "computer1" and installed the certificate and used the momcertimport.exe tool and could see the server on SCOM 2007 console and was able to monitor the server properly.
now I installed new scom 2012 and then requested a new certificate for the new RMS server and then installed the certificate and used the momcertimport.exe tool as well successfully, then I installed SCOM 2012 agent on the workgroup computer"computer1" and then reimported its certificate and ran the momcertimport.exe tool successfully.
I thought this should be ok for the workgroup computer to be shown on SCOM 2012 pending management agents, I see the event ID 21010 on the RMS server and following its description:
The OpsMgr Connector negotiated the use of mutual authentication with IPXXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:16299, but Active Directory is not available and no certificate is installed. A connection cannot be established.
PS: all the used certificates have the fully qualified domain name of the destination server.
I compared the certificate serial number and the number here HKLM \ Software \ Microsoft \ Microsoft OperationsManager \ 3.0 \ Machine Settingsand they are matched.
