Hi I new to SCOM and trying to map out our Network.
I'm wondering how SCOM determines which switch ports to start monitoring and we have a Cisco 3750 stack and it has started monitoring some interfaces but other normal Gi interfaces it hasn't.
Also as this is a layer 3 it has different ip numbers that can reslove to it. In SCOM it has picked the wrong ip number "a vlan ip number" has can I change this to be the management IP?

I am facing issues with discovering the websites through IIS Management packs in SCOM. I checked no discovery is disabled in authoring for IIS MP. But I am able to discover the websites in Test environment which ha same configuration as Prod but facing issues in PROD. Can some one help me pls.

I need to add a new watcher node to 100 servers' Web Application Transaction Monitoring.
I mean, I have a list of 100 Web Transaction Monitoring descriptions, and I need to add a new watcher node to each one of them.
It is a painful task to do it through Operation Manager Console, because I have to search for each monitoring description ( in Authoring->Management Pack Templates->Web Application Transaction) , then double click on monitoring, and add the new watcher node on Configure Settings/watcher node. Note that I have to do this 100 times :(
Please, Does someone know if it is possible to bulk add a watcher node to Web Application Transaction Monitoring?How can I do it?

All developer desktops are now running 4k monitors.
Unfortunately SCOM is not high DPI aware.
Are there any plans to fix this? An example is the Reports Module.
Attempting to use 'Add Object' gives grids that have lost their headings, making it impossible to sort them.
As the Add Object does not allow filtering on all columns, this is the only mechanism I have to find the server I am looking for.
OpsMgr 2012 R2 UR6 environments
Recently I removed two sealed management packs with a handful of defined classes and relationships. I was replacing them with updated versions containing minor changes to classes and relationships, and went the conservative route of deleting, waiting at least an hour, then importing the new MP's.
Base classes discovered fine, but the derived classes were inconsistent--some discovered and some didn't. The MP's are validated and known good, there were no errors anywhere, so I started looking for clues. Eventually I found a file named configinconsistency.txt in the Config Service State directory on some of the management servers. I then ran SQL queries using the guids in the files and they were all related to health services for computers targeted by discoveries in the management packs.
I deduced that if these went away everything would start working. I came up with a sequence that worked:
Delete MP's
Cycle config service on each affected MS (which deletes the file), and wait to see if a new one is written. If not, all good
For any MS where file is recreated, stop MMA, delete health service state, restart MMA. After confirming MS has gotten all MP's and generated 1210 event, cycle the config service
When all MS are 'clean', reimport MP's
Unconventional, but it worked. Everything discovered properly.
I then took a look at another MG that did not appear to have any issues. Some of those MS had configinconsistency.txt files. A restart of config on those MS was all that was required to clean them out--no files were recreated.
So, in one scenario, the existence of this file signified an issue existed, and in the other, issues existed, but apparently resolved themselves.
Any insights are appreciated to this mystery!
I have been into SCOM för about 2 days, and everything worked fine until now!
The problem come afterI installed some MP:
- Microsoft Windows Server File Services
- Microsoft Windows Server & iscsi Servicies
- Microsoft SQL
The Alerts are the following:
"Run As Account Could not Log On"
"Run As Account Could not Log On Locally".
The SCOMAA account have the correct Pa$$w0rd. And I have a GPO that makes the SCOMAA account "Inloggable" on all servers in the domain.
On the SCOM server I am getting this error:
"Management Group: lab. Script: GetSQL2012DBFreeSpace.vbs : Cannot login to database [sql.lab.local][SCOM:ReportServerTempDB]"
Hi All,
In SCOM 2012 Server, Management server has grayed out.
and it is not triggering Alerts.
In detail view it is showing as
User Action manager is Critical
Agent manager is critical
Even when i tried to Check health Service start up configuration,
It is showing below.
Can not connect to the health service running on SCOMServer, please make sure that health service is running.
But in SCOM Server Data access service is running and remaining services also running.
Please let us know how to troubleshoot in such scenario.

Hi experts,
I'd like to verify one thing with you, as there are very fer resources to look this up. I received a request from the customer, for whom I'm currently monitoring 74 URLs via WATM on my SCOM infrastructure. He wants me to always collect full request response body. My question is - do you know where is this data stored (I guess DW DB) and what would be a potential impact on the infrastructure. Is collecting the full response body not going to overload database with data taking into account some of the web pages are few MBs big and they are polled every 15 minutes? How many responses will be stored before they get overwritten with the new ones? Is there any way to change this setting (ex to one day only)?

I have a following problem - on one of the servers SCOM 2012 does not discover the windows service, that is supposed to be monitored by Windows Service template monitor I created. Service is present and discovered properly on any other servers running it. Any hints were to start looking for solution? Everything else seems healthy on the server, no relevant Warnings in Ops Mgr event log, object is green in SCOM

2. End User Service Availability

4. Infrastructure Availability
So if any body has make these dashboard they can contact me if they is readymade template available you can also tell me. I need these type of dashboard on urgent basis so kindly reply as soon as possible.

Description: when run the update rollup (MSP file) under CMD, encounter error: Error 25351. Failed to stop services. Error Code: 2147024891 (Access is denied)
I can confirm current user which run CMD is Local Administrator. Anyone have good suggestion about this issue?

Hi,
I have a requirement where I have to build a SLA dashboard for File and Print Cluster server. Dashboard should be like where even if one node goes down it should report cluster should report healthy and not downtime as F&P services are available even if one node goes down.
I tried creating a DA but no data at all.

I have SCOM 2012 R2 installed and recently decided to have Syste Centre Advisor configured.
In SCOM i go ro Advisor Connect and click on Register to Advisor Service, i enter in all the relevant details but when click on finish i get the following error: Error 2200: Unable to register to Advisro Server.Please contact the system Administrator.
I can acces Advisor fine via the web browser but when i try to connect it to Operation Manager i get the above error.
I have checks and my firewall allows for the relevant Ports to be opened. Can anyone please advise me on where i am going wrong?
