Hello,

I just noticed that several machines are duplicated under the Monitoring > Windows Servers (State view) : 1056 this number is really too high it is about 300 items duplicated !!!!

How is it possible?

How to get all items duplicated?

How to cleanup all items duplicated?

There is no duplicate under Administration > Device Management > Agent Managed: 657 Agents

Agentless Managed:107

Thanks,

Dom

SQL Managenment Pack for SCOM 2007 R2 Updates?

$

Hello,

As the SQL management Pack for SQL Server 2008, 20012, 2014 & 2016 are having versions 6.7.15.0 are they still used in SCOM 2007 R2?

I installed them in SCOM 2012 R2 and they work well but in 2007 R2 I have an error on the XML ....

Are SQL MPs for SCOM 2007 R2 not having anymore updates?

Thanks,

Dom

Update Rollup 8.0.11030.0 for the Microsoft Monitoring Agent

I just ran across this blog post about an update rollup for the Microsoft Monitoring Agent

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/momteam/2016/12/21/update-rollup-8-0-11030-0-for-the-microsoft-monitoring-agent-is-now-available/

Now, I've been taking care of our SCOM world for some time and wasn't aware that you could update the Agent by itself. Where have I been?

Should I deploy this out to my SCOM agents to upgrade their HealthService? Will it cause any problems with existing MPs?

DMZ SCOM agent Connectivity Issue

Dear Team,

I have a DMZ server Windows 2012 r2 and my scom server 2012 r2. I have installed scom agent on the Workstation (DMZ). As this is not in domain i have imported a certificate.

1st i have installed the certificate which is provided by Active Directory Team and then imported it with MOMImport tool. As soon as i import the certificate Microsoft monitoring agent service got stopped. When i tried to start the service i was getting error.

I also tried to remove the certificate and then i noticed that service started after removing the certificate.

When i tried importing a certificate with FQDN service is not stopping but as this is workstation it will not communicate with SCOM server.

Can you please help me on this issue?

We had one server for SCOM, which includes MS and databases as well. We have removed MS and SQL from this server and trying to install SCOM again. We are able to install MS on this server but unable to install ACS as it is giving below error.

Install ACS: Failure (0x00000643)

I have checked event viewer and it is giving below error:

Product: System Center Operations Manager 2012 Audit Collection Server -- An older version of Operations Manager Audit Collection Server that Setup cannot upgrade has been found on this computer. Uninstall the older version and run Setup again.

Please let me know steps to remove ACS residuals from system.

Upgrading SCOM 2012 R2 to 2016 and keep databases

$

Hi all,

I'm planning to upgrade our SCOM 2012 R2 UR11 to SCOM 2016 UR1.

Today, our SCOM 2012 R2 is installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 that does not meet the minimum supported OS configuration.

So I have to install a brand new SCOM 2016 instance in "parallel mode". As I understood, in this mode the setup creates new databases, but I want to keep history.

Is there a way to upgrade and connect the SCOM 2012 R2 DB to the SCOM 2016 R2 instance ?

Thank you.

Regards,

Dear all,

In one of our Management server , we are getting event 31552 for every 16 mins.

(The description for Event ID 31552 from source Health Service Modules cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:
Microsoft.SystemCenter.DataWarehouse.StandardDataSetMaintenance
State data set

Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.)

On the other Management server , we are getting event id 31553.

Any input what could the issue.

Hello

I have seen numerous articles about using powershell to find the health state of indiviual monitors and objects. However, I can't find anything that can get the overall availability, configuration, performance and security health states for a computer.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

ADFS 2012R2 The WS-Metadata Exchange (MEX) endpoint is not reachable PS0033

$

I get this error on multiple non primary adfs servers but i don't find any solution for it.

In this post someone had the same issue, but also a discovery issue, which i also suffer.
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/systemcenter/en-US/2227b168-848f-423e-80a0-c6f56a022522/scom-2012-r2-adfs-problems?forum=operationsmanagergeneral
But as you can see the fix he got in there only solves his discovery issue.
I do not have a discovery issue, i see all my adfs servers but the issue still seems to be that the
monitor 'MEX Endpoint Is Unreachable' is running the powershell commandlet Get-ADFSEndpoint on the secondary servers which is not allowed.
Either it should not run on secondary servers or it should use another way to run the check is my simple conclusion.
Just to be sure i also tried the fix management pack from the related post but it did not help so i removed it.

Does anyone know a solution for this?

Ronald

SCOM SLA Dashboards Causing High CPU on Data Warehouse database.

$

I had created SLA dashboards for my application computer objects (Windows Computer objects only 5-6 computers ex: SCCM computer objects) and Created SLO's.

Created a group for all 5-6 computers and Added dependency roll up monitor for the group to roll the health of all computers for Group SLA calculation.

Created a consolidated SLA dashboards to show the SLA for Last 24 hrs, 7 days and 30 days.  Added Individual computers and group to show the SLA of Group and individual computers.

Everything is working fine and SLA Dashboards are loading successfully.  But when While dashboard is refreshing SQL service on DW server is taking 100% CPU consistently.

I had changed the dashboard refresh interval from 60 seconds to 5 mins. still it is same issue.

I had collected SQL profiler trace and found SLA Dashboard related sql queries are executing continuously. But I didn't see any SQL blocks.

I would like to know why SQL is taking high CPU for simple SLA dashboards and is there any known issues or any recommendations

Email Notifications Not Working

This use to work when we had SCOM 2012 R2 so i wonder if this is a version issue. Anyway, no one is getting alert email from SCOM server. I followed this:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/934756

to test if emails are working and nothing arrives. I have followed this:

http://systemcentermvp.com/2016/06/28/configure-alert-email-notification-subscription-in-scom/

to setup notifications (yes it is for 2012 R2). Has something changed for SCOM 2016?
