SCOM Monitoring Change for SEP Server

Hello,

I am new to SCOM. I have to perform following task. Someone please 'help me.

Please configure the following on the servers specified below.

1 run script C:\SOC\scripts\SEPDefChecks.ps1 every 24 hours using SCOM
2 Alert on failed task.
3 Monitor Log File  c:\SOC\output\SEPDefs.txt for any updates.
4 Raise incident when the file is updated and the line starts with the phrase RAISE CALL
Incident Priority:                       3             Assignment Group:- XYZ

How could this be perofrmed?

Can SCOM receive RSS feed?

Hi,

With recent outage at Azure end we have a requirement which would monitor the content of below URL and throw an alert if any service goes down. I have also been asked to configured SCOM to receive RSS feed from this URL. How can we achieve it? Any help in this matter would be highly appreciated.

SCOM 2016 installation error : SQL Server could not be verified

Hi

I'm getting this error while installing the SCOM 2016 and NO firewall issues

DB  : Microsoft SQL Server 2016 (SP1-CU2) (KB4013106) - 13.0.4422.0 (X64)

OS  : Windows 2016 STD version 1607 (OS Build 14393.1770)

1.  NO Firewall issues , because the same VLAN or network

2. Add the computer/account as part of Local Administrator of SCOM Server and Database Server (viceversa)

3. Add the user name as sysadmin of the database

4. Remote Database

The installed version of SQL Server could not be verified or is not supported. Verify that the computer and the installed version of SQL Server meet the minimum requirements for installation, and that the firewall settings are correct. See the Supported Configurations document for further information.

SCOM 2016- Monitoring Windows 10 Network Adapter Utilization

Hi,

We have System Center 2016 Operations Manager. Our main usage is only monitoring Windows 10 PCs. I don't seem to find a way to view Windows 10 PC Network Adapter utilization. Do you have any idea where I can view this? Preferably from Performance View (with diagram). I have installed Management Pack for Windows 10. Is this sufficient?

Event NT Rule

Hello Team,

As per my business requirements i have to make a rule

which covers two main conditions to get the alert generated:

failure of any of these 5 ID's : 101,103,111,311,329

plus

If any individual tries to logging to my M/S via his/her individual ID and credentials.Other then service/generic accounts the alert should get generated

domain\(if first character is a digit)

domain\012345 : alert

domain\windows_admin: no alert

ID failure part is done any help on the user logging part please.I have tried wildcards and regular expression

How to list of all servers currently monitored in SCOM 2007 R2.

Is it possible for a list of all thresholds that have been set for a handful of servers?

What server by server reporting functionality exists with the scom infrastructure?

Hi All,

We are using SCOM 2016 and migrating GSM tests to Application Insights as suggested by Microsoft. But, we are not not sure: -

Whether creating e-mail notification of migrated GSM tests on Application Insights is chargeable or not ?

Whether changing alert threshold of migrated GSM tests (ex: - modifying HTTP response code condition) is chargeable or not ?

Event ID 4221 - SQL Server Monitoring MP Windows

We have a SCOM 2012 R2 (v. 7.1.10226.1239) running in our business that works perfectly well. But when we started to install some SQL Server 2017's to some application servers, we started to receive error messages after we installed the SCOM Agent on them.

We have the latest MP installed for SQL Server 2017 (7.0.0.0), but the error messages still shows up. This doesn't happen for any other SQL Server (2008 - 2016) installations. The error messages we receive can be anything from Stolen Memory Mapping to CPU Utilizations, so in my mind SCOM doesn't properly monitor these modules, and I would like some help to know what's causing it.

This is the error we receive in the SCOM console:

The only help of what event ID 4221 is was this website http://kb.monitorware.com/kbeventdb-detail-id-3362.html which said that "A WINS thread could not signal the main thread after closing its session.This would be caused by the last thread in WINS closing the database." But what does that actually mean? 

Anything that can help shed some light at what is causing these issues are greatly appreciated.

Availability of a service base on the network connectivity

We want to monitor a service which is located in a remote site

Network connectivity is a issue when a wan connection goes down two alert was generated one for router and another for health of operations monitoring agent

is there any way to prevent agent alert in this condition ? can dependency monitor help us ? I don't want use any script to put agent in maintenance mode because it decrease availability in the availability report

Availability of a Operating System based on the rotuer

I want to crate availability report for an operating system based on the router

I want connectivity of router does not affect to availability of operating system

Wan connection is almost down but the clients which is on that remote site can use operating system (database)

Management server is in a datacenter . i cant install a gateway server on remote server because of lack of hardware resources

Operating system is on a remote site which is connected to datacenter via wan connection

DPM Server 1801 is not Present in SCOM 1801

Hello 

i try to monitor SCDPM 1801 with SCOM 1801 , 

Event id 125

DPMServerDiscovery : DPM is not present on this computer

i install DPM Central Console on SCOM Server , Install Management pack SCDPM ver  5.0.1300.0 . 

but same result

SCOM 2016 local Console Crashing

hi ,

we just upgrade our SCOM from 2102R2 to 2016, i have local SCOM Console installed on my local Windows10 WorkStation and every time i try to open my console it crashes. i have google this issue and found few people are complaing about Windows update and i have checked and confirm that all those updates are not installed on my local machine, is there any thing else i need to do? please help.

Channel command with PowerShell script don’t work

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to activate a PowerShell script from a channel command.

This is the script:

When I run the script from PowerShell directly, it work.

I run it like this:

At the channel its defined like this:

c:\windows\system32\windowspowershell\v1.0\powershell.exe

"<Path>\ServerName2CustomField.ps1" '$Data[Default='Not Present']/Context/DataItem/AlertName$'

c:\windows\system32\windowspowershell\v1.0\

From the channel definition it doesn’t work.

Anyone know why?

Alert Notifications - Description Missing - 1807

Hey guys- I'm fairly new to scom so you might need to be aware of that. I've setup monitoring (in OM 1807) of our Sonus telephony hardware (SNMP) and we're now seeing flurries of alerts but the description's missing from the alerts in both the alert view and the email notifications. I've left the default string in the E-Mail notification channel formatting for the description: Alert description: $Data/Context/DataItem/AlertDescription$ but just saw that it's slightly different from the one in the list: ($Data[Default='Not Present']/Context/DataItem/AlertDescription$) so have just added that in to test...

If anyone's got any idea what I'm not doing or indeed missing with regards the description, that would be great- they're not much use without them! Cheers, Marcus.

MSSQL 2016: Monitoring failed

Hi,

In one of the DB servers we are continuously getting the below alert from the rule MSSQL 2016: Monitoring failed.

Event ID: 4211. Management Group: xxxx. Script: Main Module: CPUUsagePercentDataSource.ps1 Version: 7.0.0.0 :
Error occurred during CPU Usage for SQL Instances data source executing.
Computer:<server name>
Reason: NetBios host name for DNS name '<servername>' cannot be found
Position:93
Offset:9
Detailed error output: NetBios host name for DNS name '<servername>' cannot be found

We have the required action account applied for this and is working for other servers. Can some one help me how to troubleshoot this.

SCOM Dashboard View - Group

I created dashboard and added the groups that we have in our company

I noticed when any alert coming from the member of the group is not changing the severity of the group

Can you please advise

My Objective when any alert from member group should change the severity of the group

HP DL380 G6 Hardware Monitoring

Hi

I have a big problem for monitoring HP DL380 G6 with iLo2 

HP Management pack for OM 1802 does not support DL380 G6 server

iLO2 cant send snmp with community string

I found https://www.informaticar.net/hp-proliant-agentless-monitoring-with-scom-2012-r2/ for sending ilo snmp via windows but it needs to access to Control panel , how can find control panel in Hyper-v 2016 ?

can anyone help me to find a way for monitoring HP DL380 G6 with ilo2 ?

Cannot find Monitor to override

Hello

Our SQL Team got a warning from the rule "MSSQL:Monitoring warning". Part of the error description is: "Script GetSQL2012DBFileGroupFreeSpace.vbs" - Query timeout expires.

So the SQL Team asked me to override the Timeout/sec .

I found out that the GetSQL2012DBFileGroupFreeSpace.vbs script is part of the "Microsoft.SQLServer.2012.DBLogFileSizeRawPerfProvider (DataSourceModuleType)".
