An account specified in the Run As profile "Microsoft.SystemCenter.VirtualMachineManager.2012.VMMServerConnectionRunAsProfile" cannot be resolved.

Hi,    We have an alert on a recently created gateway machine in an untrusted DMZ as seen below.  The VMM connection account profile has an account that is targeted to all objects but is not valid in the DMZ.  Im not sure if its this account that is being referred to or not.   We also have another gateway server in the DMZ that does not get this alert.

Does anybody have any suggestions?   What is the VMM connection account used for?  To connect directly to VMM?

An account specified in the Run As profile "Microsoft.SystemCenter.VirtualMachineManager.2012.VMMServerConnectionRunAsProfile" cannot be resolved.

This condition may have occurred because the account is not configured to be distributed to this computer. To resolve this problem, you need to open the Run As profile specified below, locate the account entry as specified by its SSID, and either choose to distribute the account to this computer if appropriate, or change the setting in the profile so that the target object does not use the specified account.
Note: you may use the command shell to get the Run As account display name by its SSID.

Monitoring pending certificate expirations

We have a number of public web sites that use certificates and we'd like to use SCOM to provide warnings about pending certificate expirations.     Is there a certficate services management pack, or a monitor or rule in an existing pack (like the IIS or windows OS packs) that will tell us when a given certificate is about to expire?

Monitoring vs My Workspace

Hello,

Is it possible to copy/paste from/to Monitoring/My Workspace?

Or could it be done by export/import of view/folders?

It was already asked but I wonder if there is an update in SCOM 2007? in SCOM 2012?

Thanks,

Dom

Average Logical Disk Seconds Per Transfer

I have enabled the above monitor and overwritten the threshold to .012 milliseconds and the samples to 20 for testing purposes. The monitor is triggering an alert but the alert context is showing the following output.

Object Name:LogicalDisk
Counter Name:Avg. Disk sec/Transfer
Instance Name:C:
Last Sampled Value:1.92919485270977E-02
Number of Samples:20

What is throwing me off is the "Last Sample Value" which seems to be fairly high and not consistent with what I would see for the equivalent performance collection rule. Is there any way to view the values for all 20 of the samples to see what it is collecting?

Only send an alert to a subscription if critical for x number of minutes.

Hello,

I am using the Opslogix Ping MP to ping the gateway at our remote sites.  Currently we send the alert to infrastructure when it misses x number of pings. I would like to have it send an alert if it is in a critical state for x number of minutes.

And would really like to have send out two alerts one to the infrastructure team if it is critical for let say 10 min and another to the services team if it is critical for 30 min.

Kind of new to ops manager so not sure where to start looking into this... any suggestion or thoughts?

Gateway server with 'Not Monitored' status - SCOM 2012R2

$

Hi,

Not sure what is wrong....

On the GWay server, the cert says it installed fine in Event Viewer.

The Management Packs are all downloaded on to the GW server(should they??)

Under Agent Managed on the MS, the Gateway server shows up with a Green Tick (Again, is the Gway server supposed to be "Agent Managed")

But under Management Servers, the dreaded open circle (not monitored) stays there.

Rebooting doesn't help.

I can't find any event that suggests a problem.

MomCertImport ran fine.

Any suggestions for Troubleshooting?

Thx

John Bradshaw

The Views remain filled but dashboard are empties...

Any idea?

Dom

Hi,   We recently started getting errors like the one shown below on one of our SCOM management servers.

Any thoughts on what might be causing this and why this shows on a scom server.   There is no VMM stuff installed on this SCOM server.

Thanks in advance.

All,

We are using SCOM 2012 and trying to create a Windows performance collection rule for a process

I know the name of EXE file. During the rule creation wizard, When we enter name of any WIndows CLient computer to browse, we get an error.

Is it Firewall/ports issue or something else??

I can browse to servers which are in same network with cilents but cannot browse clients in wizard

Monitor created aren't displayed on health explorer

Hi,

I create a Unit Monitor manually pointing to a Monitor Target (group) created manually too.

When I check one of the Servers (member of the manual group) in Health Explorer, the new monitor created doesn't appear

but, If I create the same unit monitor (same specs) pointing to a monitor target deployed automatically (ex. Windows Computer), the new monitor appears in Health Explorer.

There is something missing to can create a Unit Monitor linked to a manually created Monitor Target?

Alert summary MP run as account profile in multiple domains

Hi,

I have a general question about run as account profiles and targeting of objects.    We have an Alert Summary MP account that uses the scom action account.   The target is all objects.   the Runas account used is a domain account in domain XYZ.  When targeting all objects, it tries to run on domain ABC and caused an alert.

How can I specifically configure the profile to use account  XYZ\accountname for objects in XYZ domain and then ABC\accountname in the ABC account.

Thanks Lance
