I have a general question about run as account profiles and targeting of objects. We have an Alert Summary MP account that uses the scom action account. The target is all objects. the Runas account used is a domain account in domain XYZ. When targeting all objects, it tries to run on domain ABC and caused an alert.
How can I specifically configure the profile to use account XYZ\accountname for objects in XYZ domain and then ABC\accountname in the ABC account.

Operations Manager will remember the last checked line within your log file. So in case that was in line 100, SCOM will start reading in line 101 the next time the workflow runs. If you decide to clear the log file and start filling it from line 1, SCOM will not proceed until line 101 is reached. Can i fix this issue ?

We are running a SCOM 2012 environment.
The issue we have is that for multiple objects the Health state is "not monitored" although availability monitors are present.
For example all our backup exec servers are "not monitored".
But is not only Backup Exec that is showing as "not monitored". We have the same issues with SCVMM server, some windows OS servers,... So I'm thinking it's a general problem.
Another problem that is related to the previous one. Some monitors within availability are critical but the health state keeps "not monitored".
The actions that I already did are:
- Put the server in maintenance mode for 5 minutes and restart the Operations manager service on the target.
- Clear the Operations manager cache on the target server (deleting Health Service State folder and restarting operations manager service).
- Restart the SCOM server

We have SCOM 2012 SP1 which was just upgraded to SP1 about a month ago. Those issues are resolved....finally.
For RU2 and RU3, do these have to be installed on top of eachother or can I just install RU3??
Have there been any crippling issues that I should be aware of when installing a RU?? I am fairly new to SCOM so I can fix them as they come, but would rather take a proactive approach if possible.

I have setup availabilty monitoring for web portals and the websites are monitored synthetically from 6 differnt watcher nodes from different geographical locations.
The issue is: when my watcher node is down it adds to the unavailability of my website and SLA goes down in the related dashboard and report. Is there any work around this i.e. can we tell SCOM 2012 SP1 not to add this to the SLA calculations??

I've had some issues getting the ADFS 2.0 Management pack to work at all within my estate.
I have followed the directions from the ADFS 2.0 management pack documentation, as well as the known issues when deploying this management pack as detailed here and have performed these "fixes",

There appears to only be a single .ps1 ADFS health script on the client, when compared to the RMS server's Management Pack.
I can't see any of the ADFS classes when using health Explorer, so I believe the issue is related to the client configuration. Could someone please advise what I could try next to validate that these classes are enumerating. I have looked at using the SCOM TraceConfig, however haven't found which would be the relevant components to start tracing.
This is happening for a number of different ADFS servers both proxy and regular federation servers throughout my estate.
At this stage I am looking to create customised ADFS service rules to at least get up/down monitoring, however it is frustrating, as there are a whole other bunch of useful monitoring tools in this "native" management pack.

I am writing a script to put a single server (not a group) into maintenance mode. Here is the command that it ultimately tries to call:

I've tried to look at Start-SCOMMaintenanceMode help online, but I don't see that "startTime" is a parameter. So what is this error message talking about? What am I missing?
We are trimming our notifications on a pilot group of servers. I have successfully disabled monitoring for unneeded components but the connect to computer/heartbeat alerts are annoying. I have them tweaked so that servers can restart as needed and only send alerts if they do not come back up properly. However, when there is a valid issue with connectivity I get two emails (one for connect; one for heartbeat). I am fine with the alerts because I know the two are married (per the knowledge link on the alert) but I don't need an email for both and would like to stop that. I need to configure a the alert to not generate a notification. I have disabled alerts but not notifications.
1. How can I accomplish this?
2. What is the difference in a disable and an override?

I have an issue with our SCOM 2012 reports. When attempting to generate a report on a server which was recently discovered (say 1 month ago) the object isn't available to be selected nor does it appear in a report generated by a group.
Any older servers i can generate reports for (ie performance report for the past week which populate data (but not for the last 2 days which is also strange)).
I have checked the management servers and found this error:

I have read a number of posts and checked the performance of the Database server doesn't seem to be an issue, the existence of an object in the "Data Warehouse Synchronization Server" type and I'm not getting 31552 events.

Hello,
I want to monitor the availability of several websites from multiple points into the world. The "availability" monitoring looks as a best option (vs. "transaction" monitoring.
However when I setup such a monitoring, it does perform "anonymous" access... I am not clear about the right way to configure credential / run as account to be used in a such a case. It is required for IIS websites that only accept Windows authentication.
Could you please help me ?

Hi, I'm trying to create a dashboard which features live data, for example top 10 CPU for windows 2012 servers. However it seems that any performance data is pulled from the DW db and is averaged over and hour or more. I don't want a historical average, but rather a widget which updates every * minutes and shows LIVE cpu data from that point in time. No graphs, just a percentage number for each of the top 10 windows 2012 servers consuming cpu.
Anyone know if this is possible?? It seems that any performance widgets pull data from the DW db rather than the OpsMan main db..

Hi, Some general upgrade questions.
If we are at UR2 can we go to UR4 and this adds UR3 changes as well? or do I need to do each of them?
If we upgrade SCOM to UR4 do we or should we upgrade Service Manager, Config Manager, VMM, Orchestrations, App manager, etc all together or can we do them separately?

I have been working with Service Manager a lot but this is my first custom management pack in SCOM.
What i am trying to do is Create two classes and create a relationship. Data will be entered in these classes using PowerShell. This classes should be brought to Data Warehouse as well. There is no discovery or monitoring involved. I have sealed the the
ManagementPack.
I created the class and relationship and imported the management pack in SCOM console. Import was successful and i can see the tables are created in the OperationsManager database but i don't see them in the data warehouse.
I don't see any place from where i can force sync the management packs.
Is there something special i have to do to bring these classes to data warehouse?
We recently just upgrade System Center Operations from 2012 to 2012 R2. After the upgrade we noticed that when trying to launch Operations Manager Web Console, we can now only have one session of this open on the same system. If we try to open more then one session on the same session we get an error.

Just installed the ADFS MP on to SCOM 2012 R2, but cannot get the Websites to turn Green, even though the Websites are running fine. ADFS servers are 2008R2.
Have applied all the legacy IIS6 extras to the Management Server (bit dodgy??)

Rebooted....Stopped/started Health Services ------ nothing gets these critters to turn green.
I do see the following Warning in the Opsmgr Event log and am not sure if this is causing the problem. Nor can I work out how to fix it:
ActiveDirectoryFederationServices : IIS VDir check PowerShell monitoring script failed. You cannot call a method on a null-valued expression. Event ID 901
Any ideas of what can be checked further?
